and yeah, the winters can be 'interesting.' My wife does not like the cold, grey winters here in STL (we don't get much snow here, so it's miserable with basically no benefit or beauty).
Basically all the great stuff about CNY, the fantastic summers, gorgeous falls. I've been bragging about FLX area for years, how beautiful I recall it from childhood.
Household income is ~$200K (I'm fully remote), with likelihood to nearly double once my wife hits the job market after taking a long break. Looking for general relocation advice/opinions. She also has some special dietary needs (gluten-free, no eggs, no dairy) that make shopping interesting. Looking to move out of STL, just came back from a week in FLX and wife fell in love with it. Louis, MO now with my wife who was born and raised here. I'm born/raised in Syracuse but joined the Navy after high school in 1990 and haven't lived in the area since. TL DR - my wife and I are seriously considering a move to the Finger Lakes in the next 12-18 months.
